We all need to use taxis, the cars that carry us around, and metaphorical taxis, the people and tools that help us do things and go places. Do you need a ride to the airport? Call a taxi. Do you need to fly from the airport to San Francisco? Buy a ticket and get on a plane (unless you are already there). Do you need to get warm in the winter? Buy a coat.
Left to ourselves, most of us aren't readily equipped to manage life on planet earth. We don't have fur to keep us warm. We don't have fangs and claws to defend and feed ourselves. We don't have speed or wings, to travel quickly from one place to another.
Instead we buy, beg, borrow, and steal the help we need. We can't do life on our own! Instead of trying to figure out everything on our own, we need to ask for help.
Wise and useful people, at work and in communities, are the ones who have learned where to get and use the resources other people provide.
